3. Dean Ambrose
Maybe it's important to note that Dean Ambrose will be part of SummerSlam 2017. Others won't be so fortunate, but Ambrose graces the event in a much smaller capacity than last year. In 2016, he went into the pay-per-view as WWE Champion and promised to tear the house down with a fired-up Dolph Ziggler.
Before reforming 2/3's of The Shield with Seth Rollins, it didn't look like Ambrose had a space waiting for him on the SummerSlam card at all. In essence, he's had to form a tag-team in order to remain relevant, which is amazing when taking into consideration the fact he was WWE Champion this time last year.
WWE's writers love penning quirky comedy for Dean, don't they? It rarely works though. Aside from a few insignificant Intercontinental Title reigns and acting like a fool, just what progression has Ambrose made since SummerSlam 2016? If anything, he's went backwards, and that includes the Shield story.
