2. Koji Kitao

Joining forces with Japanese wrestling icon Genichiro Tenryu at WrestleMania 7, Koji Kitao made his one and only televised WWE appearance at the 1991 event in a victory over former tag team champions Demolition.

His abbreviated tenure was not without incident, though.

Earning the spot thanks to a working relationship between WWE and the newly-formed Super World of Sports promotion in Japan, Kitao had left behind a career in sumo wrestling after suffering expulsion amidst a flurry of controversies which included striking his boss' wife during a heated row.

Working briefly for New Japan, his exit was shrouded in shame yet again, after he was heard to racially abuse Riki Choshu. The SWS opportunity provided an ideal escape hatch following the NJPW ugliness.

Predictably, that too would end in turmoil, as an inter-promotional match with Earthquake in Kobe, Japan just days after the WrestleMania 7 clash descended into chaos.

Electing not to sell for 'Quake half way through the contest, the two began scuffling for real, with the match ending with a disqualification when Koji kicked out at the referee. Later publicly outing wrestling as pre-determined on the microphone in an effort to save face, Kitao was fired from SWS shortly afterwards.
