10 WWE Superstars Who Performed The Perfect Elbow Drop

By Scott Carlson /

9. Dolph Ziggler

tumblrAlthough the vast majority of the elbow drops listed here are flying or diving elbow drops, there is no rule against some of the more stylish, ground-based elbows making an appearance here, hence Dolph Ziggler€™s heart-stopper elbows. Ziggler started doing this in the waning days of his heeldom, and it has continued as a move to get fans to count along as he drops nine rapid-fire elbows before spinning, leaping high into the air and planting a 10th elbow on a downed opponent. The sheer speed at which Ziggler drops the elbows, gets back up and drops another is impressive, and it shows a competitor who gets the concept of wearing an opponent down. Repeated elbows like that take a toll and hurt a lot more than one second rope elbow drop. Sure, Ziggler€™s not going to pin anyone, but at least thanks to Jerry Lawler, it€™s known as the heart-stopper elbows.
