10 WWE Superstars Who Performed The Perfect Elbow Drop

By Scott Carlson /

6. Mick Foley

tumblrNot every great diving elbow drop is from a turnbuckle. In Cactus Jack€™s case, his signature elbow came from the apron down to the floor. In the WCW era of concrete floors, this really looked impressive, if not, downright scary. Foley€™s elbow drop would incapacitate opponents and draw €œooohs€ from the crowd. By the time he reached WWE, Foley had made the conscious decision not to dive onto concrete any longer (though that didn€™t stop him from taking other crazy risks), so the Cactus Elbow was rarely seen. However, with WWE€™s padded ringside floors, the move would make a comeback, and Foley would bust it out on occasion outside the ring, such as his match against Randy Orton, when he dropped the elbow off the stage:Recently, Bad News Barrett has paid homage to Foley with an elbow off the apron, complete with a €œBang! Bang!€ finger gun salute before diving. So Foley€™s reckless ways clearly had an influence on at least one of the current stars on the roster.
