In the WCW era of concrete floors, this really looked impressive, if not, downright scary. Foleys elbow drop would incapacitate opponents and draw ooohs from the crowd. By the time he reached WWE, Foley had made the conscious decision not to dive onto concrete any longer (though that didnt stop him from taking other crazy risks), so the Cactus Elbow was rarely seen. However, with WWEs padded ringside floors, the move would make a comeback, and Foley would bust it out on occasion outside the ring, such as his match against Randy Orton, when he dropped the elbow off the stage:Recently, Bad News Barrett has paid homage to Foley with an elbow off the apron, complete with a Bang! Bang! finger gun salute before diving. So Foleys reckless ways clearly had an influence on at least one of the current stars on the roster.
