10 WWE Superstars Set For A Big Push Following WrestleMania 42
6. Rusev
WWE popped the foil on its Rusev-flavoured leftovers, tossed him in the microwave for a few minutes, and heated him back up on the Raw after WrestleMania.
If anyone needed this treatment, it was Rusev. He's been back in WWE for a year as of 'Mania 42 weekend, but he was even more of a non-factor in his match than Lash Legend was in her's, as he, JD McDonagh, and Dragon Lee were all given the derogatory currently-in-the-ring introduction that is typically reserved for jobbers because a commercial for Snickers was deemed more crucial to the broadcast.
Moving forwards, however, Rusev finds himself in a promising position. He obliterated Je'Von Evans and Penta following Evans' loss to Ethan Page on Raw, locking them both in the Accolade and towering over their lifeless bodies with the Intercontinental Championship. Reaffirming that Rusev isn't the comedy act he used to be was the message here, and it rang loud and clear.
Expect him to remain in strong contention to topple Penta for weeks to come.
