10 WWE Superstars That Got Over In Losing Efforts
4. Shawn Michaels
Shawn Michaels has made a career out of looking good in defeat. While Michaels' career post-2002 saw him lose his share of matches, it was his match at WrestleMania X that first put the Showstopper on the map.
Back then, Michaels' was a rising star but still one of the top workers in the industry. Anxious to reach the main event, Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon went all out in their legendary Ladder Match. With breathtaking displays of athleticism, Michaels and Razor introduced the audiences to this new match concept on the big stage with great success.
While Razor, who's no stranger to mastering the art of the job, went over in the match, it was Shawn who everyone was talking about for the months and years ahead. It's no coincidence that by the time next year's WrestleMania came around, Shawn would be wrestling for the WWF Championship. In fact, he'd be involved in 3 of the next 4 WWF Championship matches at WrestleMania before his career-threatening back injury forced him to retire.
Shawn made a miraculous return in 2002, and would go on to stand out in defeat many more times throughout his career. By then, he was already a made man thanks in large part to WrestleMania X.
