10 WWE Superstars The Undertaker Should Have Faced At WrestleMania Instead
10. Yokozuna - WrestleMania IX
WrestleMania IX is considered so infamous that nobody looks back on it with the rose-tinted glasses that nostalgia often provides us with. The Undertaker and Yokozuna play major roles in that infamy.
While 'The Deadman's goofy slow-moving catastrophe with the limited Giant Gonzalez wasn't edge-of-seat-viewing, Yokozuna's victory over Bret Hart and subsequently senseless loss to Hulk Hogan was reviled by everyone who wasn't watching in that arena.
The solution to that immortal problem? Well, that would've been easy: Pitting 'Taker and Yokozuna against one another.
If you've watched The Last Ride, you'll know that 'Taker begged Vince to let him work with Yokozuna first, but Vinne Mac declined and excitedly offered up Gonzalez. It's a shame because, while the eventual matches between The Phenom and Yokozuna weren't instant classics, they were still very watchable.
So yeah, this one may not have been a barn-burner - partially due to the fact 'Taker was still limited by his gimmick - but it would have been a lot more enjoyable than any of what we actually got in Caesars Palace. Yokozuna was far more agile in the ring than Gonzalez and, together, the pair could have pulled off a decent match, saving us from some of the horrors that WrestleMania IX had planned.
