10 WWE Superstars Who Better Call Paul (Heyman)

By Jamie Kennedy /

9. Bad News Barrett

Wade Barrett has all the tools to become a heavy-hitter in WWE, and in an age when the company badly needs true superstars who can earn them money, Barrett represents ideal heel fodder for a plethora of top babyfaces. He has sufficient height, a good physique, can wrestle both lengthy and quick matches, and is more than capable on the mic, but what has been holding the man back from achieving his full potential? The on one minute, off again the next booking mentality prevalent in WWE hasn't exactly helped the big Englishman, but he needs to find something he can do which nobody else on the current roster can. Being blunt, in it's current form, the 'Bad News' schtick is very mid-card, and doesn't look to have top line potential. With a few tweaks, it could be, and that's where Heyman comes in. One thing Paul Heyman could do for Barrett is to allow him to borrow some of his promo style. Heyman is a fantastic heel, one who knows when to act brash, and then has the know-how to turn on a dime, playing the coward better than almost anybody. Barrett rarely begs off opponents, but it's that sneaky vulnerability which could help him become a more well-rounded performer.
