10 WWE Superstars Who Need To Get Their S*** Together Before WrestleMania 41
10. Gable Steveson
So, this hasn't worked out.
Gable Steveson has wrestled one televised match for WWE. It came against Baron Corbin at NXT's Great American Bash last year, and it was panned hard by critics. In fairness, there was far too much pressure heaped on Gable's shoulders before he'd even attended a handful of pro fundamental classes at the Performance Center.
Comparisons to an in-ring great like Kurt Angle proved too much - Steveson was never going to live up to that, and it was stupid of WWE to start bragging about him like they'd stumbled upon the next Angle-meets-Brock Lesnar clone. Gable will get better if he sticks at it, but he hasn't taken to the pros like Kurt did.
The company surely wanted Steveson to be more of a big deal by now. They'd definitely have expected him to perform at least once on 'Mania, especially considering the Olympian took his bow at SummerSlam 2021 then again at WrestleMania 38 the following year.
2025 could be make or break for the guy.
