Matt Hardy and MVP weren't the only makeshift tag team to face off against The Brothers of Destruction. King Booker and Finlay had an on-and-off alliance throughout 2006, occasionally teaming up to take on Booker's rivals as World Heavyweight champion. There really wasn't any rhyme or reason behind the bout other than to tease tension between Booker and Finlay. They were on the outs coming off their clashes over the prestigious prize and were forced to pair back up versus The Brothers of Destruction as a punishment. Sure enough, Booker and Finlay failed to coexist, but even if they hadn't, they still would have been outmatched by The Undertaker and Kane. Fresh off victories against MVP and Mr. Kennedy at Armageddon, no one was going to put an end to their reign of terror anytime soon.
