10 WWE Vs NJPW Dream Matches

Dream-booking the greatest matches that would come from a WWE/New Japan showdown.

Most fans look back on the WCW Invasion of 2001 as a horrendously wasted opportunity, with WWE failing to build any of the WCW invaders as a real threat. The disappointment was massive; I'll bet that when the two companies were still separate entities fans had a blast sitting around talking about how wild it would be to see Stone Cold vs Goldberg or The Rock vs Sting.

In today's world of wrestling, the borders between the biggest companies remain rigid, but recent events like the CWC have opened room for speculation about WWE becoming more involved in the wrestling world outside of their own format. Though it is rather unlikely we'll ever see the WWE do business with a serious competitor, the most intriguing ideas come from a potential clash with Japan's largest promotion: New Japan Pro Wrestling.

They have groomed their own megastars for decades and a showdown with the WWE would mark the most significant battle between companies since the Monday Night Wars.

With that in mind, here are 10 New Japan vs WWE dream matches.

10. Bray Wyatt Vs. Tomohiro Ishii

Ishii may not be the largest wrestler in New Japan, but he puts every inch of his 5' 7", 220 lb frame behind every chop, lariat, and headbutt. He isn't afraid to throw his weight around and thrives when an opponent reciprocates.

Bray Wyatt would love to reciprocate. His match in 2014 against Daniel Bryan remains one of my all-time favourites and shows how devastating Wyatt can be, especially when paired with a smaller performer. Bray can play all the mind games he wants, but Tomohiro Ishii respects just one thing: violence. These two would batter the living hell out of each other just to see how much they could take, and the fans of both promotions would eat it up.
