10 WWE Wrestlers In Dire Need Of Something New
Finding a new wrinkle is what these ten WWE Superstars need right now.
WWE is highly competitive, and talent must fight to maintain their spot or move up the ladder of success. Making things difficult are fans that are always looking for something new and fresh. Even veteran stars are pushed to reinvent themselves in the ring and outside of it.
Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin took their careers to a different level after they made radical changes to their presentations. Hogan’s red and yellow Hulkamania gimmick was stale when he went in a completely different direction as the evil leader of the nWo that pushed WWE to the brink. And Austin went from an arrogant ring technician to a beer-guzzling brawler who ruled the Attitude Era.
Brian Christopher and Scott Taylor were barely relevant before they became one of pro wrestling’s greatest underdog stories when they rebooted themselves as over the top hip hop faction Too Cool along with Rikishi. And Duane Gill wasn’t even a blip on the radar before he became the hilarious Goldberg parody character Gillberg.
From the top to the bottom of the card, talent sometimes finds that they need something new to reconnect with the audience...
10. Tucker
Heavy Machinery was split up by the recent WWE Draft, which left Otis on SmackDown and sent Tucker to Raw. Otis remains on Friday night with the Money in the Bank briefcase and the wave of momentum he has been riding for months. On the other hand, Tucker will look to carve out his own niche without his longtime partner. He would benefit from a heel turn angle.
Tucker is best off as a part of a team or a piece of a bigger picture, and Raw presents several possibilities for him to join a heel faction. After a series of losses, Tucker could be convinced to join Retribution, or he could become the hired muscle for The Miz and John Morrison.
And how long will The Forgotten Sons remain forgotten? When and if they return, Tucker would make an excellent third or fourth member. A recruitment angle would be a great way to slowly turn him heel.
