11 Most Disappointing WWE PPV Endings

2. Royal Rumble 2015 — A Series Of Unfortunate Events

The 2015 Royal Rumble has gone down in infamy largely because of its closing scene—the sight of Roman Reigns, having his arm raised by the Rock, as most of the arena tries to boo him out of the building following a finish that very few wanted to see.

In reality, though, it was more than just the naming of Reigns as the winner that made this one such a disappointment. For starters, we saw Daniel Bryan, the overwhelming fan favourite, dumped out early in forgettable fashion and after far too brief an appearance. From there on in, the fans slowly but surely turned on the match, booing most of the remaining entrants apart from a select few.

Plus, the end of the match saw Big Show and Kane, 43 and 48 years old respectively, go on something of an elimination spree. The aging duo dumped out the popular Dolph Ziggler as well as future stars like Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose, which seemed like short-sighted booking, to say the least.

Truth be told, Reigns' eventual win was just the icing on the cake of what had been a truly lackluster Rumble match—surely one of the worst in recent memory.
