And now for something that certainly doesn't qualify as "low-rent". This spin-off from the Fast and the Furious franchise will see squabbling kinda-buddies Luke Hobbs (Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) teaming up to take on Idris Elba's currently unnamed antagonist, with Deadpool 2's David Leitch directing.
Though the movie famously sparked a squabble between Johnson and a cash-poor Tyrese, this has an insane amount of potential to be a ludicrously entertaining buddy action flick, especially as it's reportedly a little more grounded and less-silly than the mainline Fast and the Furious movies.
Don't be shocked if this kick-starts a side-franchise starring these two, because on paper it's a match made in heaven and could help fend off the much-discussed "Dwayne Johnson fatigue".
