It was great to see The Kabuki Warriors back on television last night, with the rarely-seen Asuka/Kairi Sane combination getting into it with the IIconics backstage
Fresh off their first successful Women's Tag Team Title defence in what feels like a dog's age, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay were roaming backstage when they bumped into the Kabukis, then laughed in their face. This prompted Paige to challenge them to a title fight. When the IIconics scoffed, Paige claimed she'd already spoken to management about a bout in Tokyo next week, and if Asuka and Sane win, they get the shot.
While nothing groundbreaking, this brief segment at least established a championship programme between two neglected teams. Let's hope for more over the coming weeks.
