Before we get into the top 10, there are a few more trainers who - despite, in some cases, only briefly turning their hand to training - deserve an honourable mention.

Adam Pearce, a five-time NWA Champion who cut his teeth in Ring of Honor, is the most notable example. He's been working with NXT rookies on and off since finishing up his own wrestling career with a match against Colt Cabana a couple of years ago.

Elsewhere, the likes of Shawn Michaels, Scott Hall, Dave Taylor, Mike Quackenbush, and Rocky Romero have all worked on fixed-term "guest trainer" spots within the last few years.
