Likely nobody on this list has flip-flopped between being a babyface or heel as much as Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Whilst hes a better performer when as a heel, the popularity of Triple H at one point in time was huge. Yes, Im talking about his return after the famed quad injury in 2001. Before his injury, Hunter had been the top heel in the company for a few years and was teaming up with Steve Austin as part of the Two-Man Power Trip. Even though Austin was still largely getting cheered by fans, everybody detested Triple H, as they had for years. After all, this was the man who reportedly whispered sweet nothings about which wrestlers to hold down whilst making love to Stephanie McMahon (well, thats if the Internet is to be believed). So when Hunter returned to the WWE on a January 2002 episode of Raw, it was amazing to see the crowd reaction. Madison Square Garden well and truly lost their sh*t and gave The Game one of the loudest and biggest reactions ever. Those U2 'Beautiful Day' hype videos really did the truck, huh? Triple H was over-like-Rover at the top of the card and was a totally ass-kicking good guy. Of course. by July Hunter would revert to type, turning heel after attacking the returning Shawn Michaels. Triple H will go down as one of the greatest heels of recent memory, but for a second there, he was a truly fantastic babyface.
