11 WWE Wrestlers With Multiple 5 Star Matches
11. Johnny Gargano
2018 has been a whirlwind for Johnny Wrestling.
In 2016 and 2017, the former NXT tag team champion had established himself, along with Tommaso Ciampa, as the best act in NXT, putting on classics with the Revival and the Authors of Pain. His career was changed forever last year when, in a failed effort to regain the titles, Ciampa turned on Johnny, forcing him into a singles run.
That run paid off huge in January of this year, when Dave Meltzer awarded his NXT title match against Andrade "Cien" Almas five stars, the first honor for WWE since 2011. Last week, his run of greatness continued, as he had a five star match in a grudge match against Ciampa, now considered to be the greatest match in NXT history.
With two five star classics in just the developmental league, Johnny Gargano is now more-or-less WWE's best-kept secret. Given his size and the moniker of "Johnny Wrestling," he doesn't seem like the kind of guy Vince McMahon would be all that invested in upon reaching the main roster. Still, the more power Triple H gains backstage, the more interesting it'll be to see how future call-ups perform.
