4. Diesel vs. Bob Backlund - WWF Title (Madison Square Garden 1994)
Look up transitional champion in a wrestling dictionary (if one exists) and you might find a description of Bob Backlunds second WWE World Championship reign. After winning the belt in a classic submission match against Bret Hart, Backlund would lose the strap three days later in eight seconds to Diesel. Poor Backlunds title reign was bookended by a man who held the belt for eight months (Hart) and a guy who defended it for nearly a year (Diesel). The title change didnt even happen on PPV or Raw. It was a Saturday show at Madison Square Garden, putting Mr. Backlund on the list of shortest world title reigns.
