6. Scott Steiner vs. Sid Vicious (WCW Starrcade 2000)
When a lot of grappling enthusiasts talk about the best WCW had to offer, the latter period of the promotion's existence doesn't come up in conversation much. The 'Vince Russo Era' is regarded as a serious low point for the organisation, which went out of business as a standalone group in March, 2001. Swallowed up by Vince McMahon and the WWF, WCW had lost the war. It's a shame the period has been overshadowed. Even though there was a lot of nonsense occurring weekly on WCW television, there were also some seriously good matches. Some of them were surprising, such as the main event of Starrcade 2000. Working as a bully-boy WCW World Champion, Scott Steiner was awesome in his defence against Sid Vicious. For his part, Vicious connected well with the crowd inside the MCI Center. There may have only be round 6,000 on hand, but they were genuinely into the action. Starrcade 2000 would turn out to be the last of the infamous event, but it's hardly talked about nowadays. This particular point in time was not celebrated in WCW, so most fans give it a miss.
