WWE.comPunk admits to regularly tearing up promos written for him by WWE writing staff, sometimes in front of them. He€™s well known for publically disagreeing with the office when it came to booking decisions, on a short and long term basis, often in interviews and even live Q&A sessions at comic convention panels. This isn€™t someone who kept his opinions to himself. The rebel character that kicked off the Second Summer Of Punk would appear to be only a slight exaggeration of Phil Brooks€™ own personality and beliefs. He€™s a stubborn, proud man with a perfectionist streak a mile wide, and of course the guy€™s got a big mouth. That€™s the kind of man who makes enemies backstage. It€™s probably been an uphill struggle for him and for them. I€™m sure a lot of the people that don€™t miss CM Punk in WWE are the people that write for it.
