Everybody remembers that The Miz defeated John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania XXVII, but given how far the former reality TV star has fallen in the past four-and-a-half years, the memory seems distant. It's not that The Miz was a terrible choice for WWE Champion - following years of improvement and a Money in the Bank win in 2010 he was red-hot. The problem is that in the years since he was champion, Miz's star has fallen so far that he's completely unbelievable as a top guy. The Miz's main problem since losing the title has been - of course - creative ineptitude. He turned face in 2012, but the new role didn't suit him as fans considered him obnoxious - and an endorsement from Ric Flair only made the WWE Universe angrier. In late 2013, Miz began to tease a heel turn, but the drawn-out nature of his shift (and half-hearted feud with Kofi Kingston) was simply annoying. In 2014, Miz took on Damien Sandow as his stunt double. Sandow got over, but Miz didn't. Throughout that time, Miz racked up a number of Intercontinental Title wins and starred in a few direct-to-DVD and ABC Family films - accomplishments of equal magnitude in the eyes of the fans. Today, he competes on TV sporadically and hosts his Miz TV interview segment, but after all of his transformations, he's little more than a TV personality. The thought of him challenging for the WWE Title is laughable.
