What He Was: Shelley will mostly be remembered for his time in TNA as half of the Motor City Machine Guns. While the two were a great team, there was a significant amount of time that TNA didnt do anything with them. They were pushed to the side at the expense of teams like Team 3D and even sadder, the Voodoo Kin Mafia. While The Guns were a solid team, Shelley stood to make the company more money on his own. But when Chris Sabin went down with an injury, he wasn't even given the chance. What He Should Have Been: At least a high mid-card heel, in the vein of Chris Jericho. The guy can talk, hes exciting in the ring, and is one of the few wrestlers in the business who actually comes across as funny. Not corny wrestling comedy like The Bunny, Eric Young, or Santino, but genuinely funny. It briefly seemed that TNA was going to give him some sort of push when he had a little bit of a feud with Mick Foley, but it went nowhere. Occasional trips to the main-event shouldnt have been out of his reach. If his old partner Sabin won the Heavyweight Title, Shelley arguably should have had his run with it too.
