12 TNA Talents Unfairly Held Back

By Andrew Soucek /

12. Magnus

What He Was: Originally brought into TNA in his early 20s as a gladiator type character, he moved into a team with The British Invasion, and later broke out on his own again. After being under-appreciated for years, he was shot to the top of the company probably before fans were ready to accept him in a top slot (like Eric Young and Chris Sabin). Since then, he€™s been pushed back into the mid-card with Bram in a pairing that doesn€™t seem to quite fit. What He Should Have Been: Protected as the World Champion. After defeating Sting, TNA shot him into a top spot where he won the World Heavyweight Title in a match against Jeff Hardy. After that, he basically took a backseat to Dixie Carter (much like Randy Orton did to Stephanie McMahon and Hunter), and was booked very weak. Instead of having the spotlight shone on him, he was a glorified henchmen. You can imagine if TNA did go under, Magnus would be WWE€™s top (perhaps only) pick to sign.
