Every wrestler in the wild, show-closing brawl—paced and structured perfectly to avoid confusion and excess for the sake of it—acted as they should have, and because of this, it didn’t feel like acting at all.
Jericho, Guevara and Jake Hager put the boots into Page. Cody made the save where Omega couldn’t, after PAC launched him into the barricade. MJF only came out, with a chair, to attack Jericho and Hager from behind when it was clear Cody was in no imminent danger. He’s still a heel, so he still behaved like one.
The renegade Jon Moxley focused only on Omega, as did Santana and Ortiz, who interrupted the barbed-wire standoff to ensure he couldn’t even the odds. The Bucks evened that, and it all drove itself, organically, to the ramp, as Moxley and Omega were thwarted again in their attempts to kill each other. This was all so well done; of course, they were holding back to save the impact for Saturday, but the framing of the angle put their dynamic over as respectful. They want to kill one another, they’re hunting each other down, but they know the value and power of the trophy.
Nick Jackson’s bump looked great, too, which Jericho sold without bumping like the goddamn pro he is.
