When John Cena was not-announced-but-really-he's-been-announced for WrestleMania 35, many wondered just would would be buried courtesy of a gentle Attitude Adjustment in a luminous t-shirt. Though Elias took the brunt on screen, Cena lampooned himself.

Throwing back to his days as...a...throwback, Cena dusted off his fondly remembered rapper persona to verbally eviscerate The Drifter in front of a thrilled WrestleMania crowd.

It was one of a scant few WWE appearances for 'The Champ' this year, with no sign of a major programme in sight on the other side. For all his omnipresence felt harmful at the time, the years since have elevated him to such a degree that semi-regular turns in this or his regular role would be welcome distractions.
