The Royal Rumble didn't sparkle as it had in 2018, but 2019 was further proof that the mid-2010s curse had been lifted, not least in the basic bravery of booking the two most popular babyfaces to go all the way in the battle royals.

WrestleMania paid both stories off and delivered the evocative and emotional Kofi Kingston WWE Championship win, whilst SummerSlam appeared to solve the Seth Rollins problem once and for all with yet another conclusive victory over Brock Lesnar. It wasn't followed up on well at all, but for a second, 'The Beastslayer' was back atop the pile.

Survivor Series was by no means the finest iteration ever, but it yet again served as proof that the Brand Warfare gimmick works as a concept even if it repeatedly makes so f*cking sense in storyline.
