Numbers can be deceiving when it comes to the Ups and Downs format.

While a quick glance at this article's title may suggest All Elite Wrestling's Full Gear was a great-to-excellent pay-per-view, this isn't quite the case. Yes, the show had a handful of staggering highs, but most of what the night offered wasn't anything close to blow-away, with the flaws fewer in number, but weightier individually. This was a good pay-per-view, subjectively, rather than a great one.

Cody challenged for Chris Jericho's AEW World Championship in a dramatic "main event" that concluded in the most gut-wrenching fashion, yielding a game-changing post-match angle in the process. They were followed by a grisly Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley Lights Out clash sure to divide the internet, though its biggest spots will never leave the memory of anyone who witnessed want went down, no matter what they thought of the bout as a whole.

Elsewhere, pupil met teacher as AEW Women's Champion Riho defended against Emi Sakura, The Young Bucks battled Pride and Powerful in the opener, Hangman Page and PAC looked to settle their long-running beef, and a lot more.
