Before the lights went out on Clash of Champions, the lights literally went out – and The Fiend made his presence felt.

It had been rumored for a while that The Fiend would challenge the winner of the WWE Universal Championship match Sunday night at next month’s Hell in a Cell PPV. But Bray Wyatt made good on that when he appeared on the ramp and put Seth Rollins down with a Sister Abigail and a Mandible Claw just as the PPV was about to draw to a close.

The crowd reaction alone should be indication enough that the surprise ending worked really well, and it fit in perfectly with the Fiend’s character, as he has been attacking wrestlers and legends the same way for a while now.

It will be interesting to see how things play out in the coming weeks, as Wyatt has existed mostly in his own universe since returning, and now he’ll presumably be in a main event feud with Rollins.
