2. Jon Moxley vs. Bryan Danielson

Jon Moxley vs. Bryan Danielson suffered, a little, because of the tired crowd. That the audience's energy was lagging at this stage in such a crammed show was understandable and it's impossible to criticise them, though the situation did take the edge off this otherwise phenomenal match at times, perhaps denting its MOTYC case.

But Moxley and Danielson put forth an excellent piece of work. It came as advertised, with both men bringing their similar-but-different brands of violence to the table in a fiercely-competitive, attritional battle of grapples, suplexes, and clubbing blows that eventually left both men bloodied and beaten, though neither could extinguish the other's fight.

Mox won via rolling the triangle choke into a pin, leaving Danielson angry and perplexed. Them deciding they weren't finished with each other led to a post-match brawl and William Regal's introduction.

Prior to that, the duo laid it in with satisfying heft, whether that meant popping forearms at each other's faces or throwing German suplexes with spine-rattling head landings. Fearsome, mean, and awash with details, Moxley vs. Danielson was one of the best things on the show.

But not the best.
