When Drew McIntyre destroyed Dolph Ziggler a while back, this column talked about how writing Ziggler off for several months could help rehabilitate his character and really sell the beating he took.

So naturally, Dolph re-emerged during the Royal Rumble at #28 and eliminated McIntyre, because the feud – which Ziggler decisively lost – must continue. And Ziggler did nothing else of note, other than superkicking Nia Jax.

Keep in mind something similar happened last year, when Ziggler won the United States Championship, then surrendered it and quit, only to return weeks later at the Rumble. There’s just no rhyme or reason to this stuff.
