12. The Street Profits Are Up
It’s tough to rate the Street Profits’ 2020. Much of their gimmick relies on fan interaction and reaction, so the moment the empty arena era began, things derailed a bit.
The Profits won the Raw Tag Team Championship in fine fashion before WrestleMania and would go on to hold the titles until October, when they swapped championships with the New Day as the two brands’ tag champs switched shows. (That in itself should be a negative noted here.)
And while the Profits had some bad moments – the rivalry with the Viking Raiders that went on too long with the extracurricular competitions, not defending their titles very often – the fact is that they were a steady presence during an unsteady year. They have firmly established themselves as a solid tag team and more than competent wrestlers. They’ve shown that they can be entertaining both in and out of the ring as well.
Hopefully, we can see the Street Profits in action in front of fans again sometime in 2021, because they deserve the opportunity to shine.
