After spending several years as Generic Smiling Babyface Diva #438, Eve busted out some never-before-seen acting chops as a conniving heel in early 2012, effectively playing the role of a social-climbing gold digger to a hilt. By year's end, Eve was WWE Divas Champion, posing for glamour shots while seated next to her unconscious opponents. Talk about freeing yourself from the pack with some gusto. That breakout made it all the more alarming when Eve suddenly left WWE in January 2013, after dropping the belt to Kaitlyn in an exciting match on Raw. Torres took on an instructor's role at the Gracie Women Empowered Self-Defense school, a natural connection as she married into the prolific Gracie family of mixed martial arts lore (her husband is Rener, grandson of the immortal Helio Gracie).
