14 Wild UFC Fights You'd Be A Fool To Miss In January

15. Omari Akmedhov Vs. Tom Breese - UFC Fight Island 8

British middleweight, Tom Breese, has long been touted as someone with the potential to be a future UFC champion. The Birmingham born 185lber has all the skills needed to be a top level fighter, but hasn't quite reached the dizzying heights many thought he would just yet.

While he made his name at 170lb, a move up to middleweight has provided some positive returns as Breese has gone 2-1 since making the change. His last outing against KB Bhullar was good enough to earn him a Performance of the Night bonus, after he dropping the Canadian with a stiff jab. Now the 29-year old faces a serious step-up in competion at UFC Fight Island 8, when he takes on Omari Akhmedov.

With 12 out of 20 knockout or submission wins, Akhmedov would seem like a decent fight-finisher. However, most of those finishes came outside of the UFC, with only one happening inside the Octagon. From what we've seen, the 33-year old Russian is far more comfortable with keeping position than going for the kill.

Considering Breese is known for being a fight-finisher, this should be a very interesting match-up between two opposing styles.
