14 WWE Wrestlers Who Defied Gravity Before Neville

By Scott Saunders /

12. Shawn Michaels

Before his near career-ending injury, Shawn Michaels was quicker than a hiccup and a regular from the top turnbuckle. Of course, post-injury Michaels had to alter his style, but as a performer he'd arguably made himself even better. The Heartbreak Kid regularly used a Macho Man-style flying elbow and a perfect moonsault as part of his regular arsenal in his early days, but Shawn garnered such a reputation for himself that he ended up being one of a handful of men who defined the ladder match - which initially came along in the mid-90's. And who of course can forget the elbow from the top of that giant ladder at WrestleMania 22, on top of a fallen-and-binned Vince McMahon? Michaels' willingness to take risks and fly from all heights and angles is just one of the reasons why he's one of the best of all time.
