Ahhhh Valentine's Day, a time for love, candy hearts, cute stuffed teddy bears and brutality from WWE. There's something special in the air at this time of year and, far from getting all lovey-dovey, it leads to superstars bringing out their worst side in the ring. Be it violent beatdowns or shocking upsets there's always something interesting going on in mid-February. Today we'll take a look at the fascinating history of WWE violence and surprises surrounding the day of love, starting at the St. Valentine's Day Massacre PPV back in 1999. It seems only fitting that a tradition such as this one would begin with Mr. McMahon, and would feature some of the most vicious superstars ever seen in a WWE ring. There are moments that we all know and love and some that will send you to the WWE Network to see exactly what I'm talking about. There's one thing that's for certain though; all the superstars on the wrong side of this list would gladly take getting hit with cupid's arrow over the results that were waiting for them around Valentine's Day.
15. Cesaro Pins WWE Champion Randy Orton - Smackdown 2/14/14
In the lead up to the Elimination Chamber, Randy Orton found himself going one on one against one of his competitors in the upcoming steel structure match, Cesaro. The build to the match was simple; Orton was the champion trying to assert his dominance over his challengers while Cesaro was the only one who wasn't a former champion in the Chamber match, trying to prove he belonged. The competitors were very even to start the match, with Orton rolling to the outside twice to get a breather. Cesaro got the better of Randy when he would re-enter the ring and was able to hit the deadlift suplex and double foot stomp to take control. Cesaro unloaded with uppercuts making Orton seek refuge on the outside once again. Once back in the ring, Cesaro was able to take over until Randy would roll out once again this time calling the doctor over.It was all a ruse, however, as he attacked Cesaro shortly after. Cesaro would avoid an RKO attempt with a brutal uppercut to the back of the head, followed by a beautiful pop-up uppercut. The match was over soon after following another uppercut and The Neutralizer.
