15 Most Notorious Company Men In WWE History

13. The Iron Sheik

The Iron Sheik makes it onto this list because he put his ego aside and did what was best for the WWF at the time. In particular, he put his negative feelings for Hulk Hogan aside and acquiesced to Vince€™s request that then-Champion Sheik drop the WWF World Title to Hogan. Sheik was trained by Verne Gagne in the AWA, a promotion that was based on real, athletic wrestling. He slowly developed a deep respect for the sport of wrestling, and as such, he held his opponents to a high standard over what he considered important. To the Sheik, athleticism, grappling skill and gimmick were the most important aspects of a pro wrestler. Even though his tenure in WWE was relatively short, he was still incredibly loyal to WWE and the McMahon family. This loyalty was put to the test when Verne Gagne offered Sheik $100,000 to break Hogan€™s leg and take the WWF World Title back to the AWA. But Sheik followed the mentality of €˜don€™t bite the hand that feeds you€™, and instead opted to do the right thing and drop the belt to Hogan, and usher in the Hulkamania era. Without the Iron Sheik being a loyal company man to WWE, there€™s a high chance that there wouldn€™t have been the era of Hulkamania, and WWE as we know it today wouldn€™t exist. Considering how much pride the Iron Sheik took in his craft, it took an amazing amount of loyalty and commitment to WWE to do what he did.
