6. The First Internet Meme Fan Sign At WrestleMania 17

This one is a little obscure, but it€™s pretty interesting to see how the times were changing for not just WWE, but the world in general. The internet meme is now common place, and there€™s always a fan sign that makes a reference to one or more of these memes in relation to WWE or professional wrestling in general. Sometimes WWE will capitalize on the meme if it€™s a big enough hit (Boo-Tista for example) but more often it€™ll be ignored. At WrestleMania 17, one fan in particular held up a large pink sign that quoted the famous internet meme €œAll your base are belong to us.€ It can be seen clearly during Undertaker€™s match with Triple H. There€™s nothing flashy about it, and most wrestling fans probably didn€™t give it a second notice. But considering that the sign was made in 2001, long before the meme boom that circulates all of social media; it foreshadowed the internet€™s inevitable rise to the top of the mainstream mountain. It€™s not a historic professional wrestling first, but it is a first in regards to the direction that World Wrestling Entertainment would take in the years that followed.
