In between stints with NJPW, Owen wrestled as high-flying 'superhero' The Blue Blazer in the WWF. The Blazer was a midcard performer who could go out and have good matches. He beat the jobbers but was beaten himself by the 'real stars'. An early match against Curt Hennig is as good as any for an introduction to the Blazer character.
