This was either a comment taken too seriously or Chris Jericho was throwing tiny, tiny bombs at WWE yet again with his promo on Jon Moxley. 'Le Champion' said that he remembered when Mox "first came onto the nationwide stage".

That'd be WWE, a global brand. Vince McMahon's nipples must've been spinning when/if he heard that remark from his ex-employee. WWE like to present themselves as anything other than insular. They're not regional, and they play to a wider international audience.

That damn Jericho.
