13. Guevara & Sabian Seize Their Moment

Kip Sabian vs. Sammy Guevara wasn't calibrated to steal the show. The goal here was to showcase two bright up-and-comers who'll hopefully play big roles in AEW going forward, and to that end, their Buy In clash was a success.

Coming in at just under 10 minutes, this was a fast-moving, exciting scrap between two similar personalities eager to prove themselves. Both of these guys are cocky as hell. Guevara was almost a different person to his Being The Elite persona, with the Panda enthusiast shedding his YouTube niceness for an oblivious cockiness that almost flipped the face/heel alignments halfway through. Fortunately, Sabian is highly detestable. The guy has 'SUPERBAD' printed across his *ss, for God's sake, and it helps that he has one of the most punchable faces in the promotion.

Sabian scored the victory after getting his knees up for Sammy's attempted 630 Splash, then nailed the Deathly Hallows for the pinfall. A surprising outcome, given Guevara's BTE focus, but one that'll feed into his character work.
