The worlds of Hollywood and the WWE aren't exactly a million miles away: they're both insane bubbles that are tough to relate to if you exist outside of them, and each of course relies on an inherent theatricality and (often enormous) suspension of disbelief for what you're watching. At their best though, both cinema and wrestling are terrifically entertaining escapism, a trip to a whole other world where anything can happen, but in the case of wrestling, there's no stuntmen, and every athlete is thoroughly putting themselves through the wringer every time they go out to the ring. Wrestling is solid training for a job in Hollywood, then, and as such it's little surprise that a fair number of wrestlers do end up in movies, from the incredible success of Dwayne Johnson to the WWE's own productions, and also the countless Hollywood bit-parts from superstars you won't even know about (Lana was in both Pitch Perfect movies, did you know?).
