3. Hulk Hogan Vs. King Kong Bundy - WrestleMania 2

Hulk Hogan's career nearly came to an end just two years into his run in WWE, courtesy the monstrous King Kong Bundy. The super heavyweight crushed Hogan with a series of Avalanche splashes that severely injured The Hulkster's ribs. Bundy reveled in the fact that he had damaged Hogan to such an extent, going as far as to issue a challenge for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 2. Hogan could have taken the easy way out, leaning on his injuries to get him out of the match, but he did not. He refused to heed the advice of doctors and accepted the challenge, determined to prove that Hulkamania cannot be destroyed by an oppressive bully and his egotistical manager, Bobby Heenan. In Los Angeles, with the world watching, Hogan stepped inside the squared circle for his showdown with Bundy. While he endured a tremendous beating that targeted his ribs, Hogan fought back and defeated the massive challenger inside the steel cage. It was the first of Hogan's trademark "return from injury to vanquish the bigger, nastier opponent" storylines that became boring and tired years later. At WrestleMania 2, however, the formula was still fresh and definitely worked.
