2 Ups & 3 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Jan 25)

Return to Mexico begins with mediocre episode.

Impact Wrestling headed south of the border this week, just a few months after they were last in Mexico. Their previous venture to Central America was reasonably entertaining to watch, displaying some of the company's best action in all of 2018.

Judging by this week's episode, the same won't be repeated this time around.

The change of country didn't make any difference whatsoever. We still had to sit through Sami Callihan making another offer to Rich Swann that we already knew the answer to. Taya Valkyrie wants another match with Tessa Blanchard because they have unfinished business. From when? Homecoming marked the end of the rivalry for Tessa, allowing her to move into a new program with Gail Kim. It's done and dusted.

On the plus side, we were treated to a lovely main event between Johnny Impact and Killer Kross with Brian Cage sticking his nose into their business once more, as well as all three members of The Rascalz putting in excellent performances. As ever, the action in the ring made up for the subpar storyline developments.

We can only hope that the episodes improve throughout the rest of Impact's time in Mexico. For now though, let's get to it...
