4. Bit Of A Missed Opportunity?
Ring Of Honor's top title just came out looking like a midcard belt.
Sadly, nothing really stood out about the ROH Title bout between reigning champ Jonathan Gresham and Dalton Castle. Both guys worked well enough together, but they only got approx 10 minutes of ring time, and everything felt a tad rushed - that's problematic considering Gresham's usual style.
He's at his best when matches are given time to breathe, but there was no chance of that here. Also, who the f*ck wants to watch ROH World Title clashes with picture-in-picture ad breaks ruining the flow? That's perhaps unavoidable on these specials, but it's bloody irritating and takes one out of the moment.
Consequently, few things these boys did had any real impact. AEW newbies who don't know too much about ROH's rich history would be forgiven for thinking this was some indy fed's belt (no jokes!). It didn't seem big time at all.
