2 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (July 28)
Question for Tony Khan! How many AEW Battle Royales are enough for one company?!
Some might point to the fact AEW confirmed no less than two title challengers on this week's episode of Rampage and call that a success. Unfortunately, the truth is just a wee bit different - Rampage has plummeted even further in importance over the past month or so. It's WWF Metal, people.
Velocity would be a compliment at this stage.
Of course, All Elite's roster always works hard. That's a given, and the likes of Kip Sabian, Komander, and a whole host of names in the opening Battle Royale (yes, another one) did their able best to grab TK's attention. Did it work? Only time will tell, but the boss certainly should've cut some ROH content from the show last-minute.
Mike Bennett and Matt Taven were in the house for a blink-and-you'll-miss-it pointless squash, and Dark Order got some minutes by way of a pre-taped vignette. The ROH stuff sucked, felt pointless and didn't add anything to Rampage.
Here's all the good and far too much bad from a show Khan might as well jot down on a napkin in catering 10 minutes before fans file in for Dynamite!
