4. Will Ospreay

Will Ospreay was frightening in 2019; not just for the bumps taken in some of his more explosive matches, but for his volume.

Barely a week passed without 'The Aerial Assassin' popping fans and critics with some kind of in-ring ripper. From his Junior Heavyweight and NEVER Openweight Title fights to runs in Best of the Super Juniors and the G1 Climax, Ospreay cementing his status as a cutting-edge, eyeball-popping through a year in which no other wrestler could say they matched his consistency between the ropes. A wonderfully violent and creative Wrestle Kingdom 14 clash with Hiromu Takahashi set him on a great start for 2020 as well.

Ospreay's is a case of prosperity through evolution, with the Englishman now so far removed from athletics-first performer than exploded onto the scene a few years ago. In working on his pacing, storytelling, and selling, and toning down his more over-the-top mannerisms and reactions to the point that they're no longer distracting, Ospreay has edged closer to becoming a complete professional wrestler. Let's hope his body holds up for long enough to hit that level.
