In the late 80s, the juggernaut that was the World Wrestling Federation began marketing its product, specifically the characters and likenesses seen on TV. The marketing campaign undertaken by Vince McMahon had never been seen before with regards to a professional wrestling organization. The company now known as WWE began selling all sorts of merchandise primarily through its monthly publication, WWF Magazine. As the company grew, Vince grew his distribution efforts and soon officially-licensed WWF action figures began appearing in stores all across the world. Over the past thirty years, we have seen toy giants like Mattel and Jakks Pacific produce little plastic or rubber men meant to represent the most popular of professional wrestling's superstars. At first, the license to produce WWF-branded wrestling figures was obtained by LJN, but by the turn of the decade a company by the name of Hasbro had acquired the rights. For the next half-decade, Hasbro would produce arguably the most popular line of wrestling toys ever made. Over that period, Hasbro would produce over 100 different wrestling figures! 20. Andre The Giant - Series 1

The first line started off with some of the biggest names ever to step foot into a WWE ring. Physically, no one from the first series was bigger than my #20 selection, Andre the Giant. Considering the time period, Andre's figure was very accurate in terms of its proportion to other figures. The figure's signature action ability was called the 'Giant Jolt' and it worked by pulling back on Andre's torso with the figure thrusting forward upon release. This was Andre's one and only Hasbro and is still popular to this day.
