The 2011 Money in the Bank PPV has to go down as one of the best WWE shows of all time. Boasting two great Money in the Bank ladder matches as well as a superlative match between Randy Orton and Christian, that would have been enough for most shows to get the highest recommendation. But Money in the Bank still had more to offer in the form of John Cena and CM Punk's amazing WWE Title match. The crowd reaction was unlike anything that had been seen or heard in wrestling for years (not since One Night Stand 2006, anyway). Punk was greeted with a hero's welcome by his hometown Chicago crowd while Cena was given all manner of abuse. Like all great matches, this one built and built to a crescendo. By the time Punk miraculously GTS'd and pinned Cena, the crowd collectively lost their minds. Alberto Del Rio tried to cash-in at Vince's behest during the post-match, but his attempt was thwarted by Punk who exited the arena, taking his title with him. What more can really be said about this match? It had everything: a molten crowd, big moves and even a bit of sports entertainment storytelling at the end. Five stars.
