With one glaring blunder, WWE's post-9/11 edition of SmackDown was for a change everything they intended it to be and then some.

Vince McMahon's rousing speech to kick off the show was peppered with the company-sponsored jingoism, but his words on normality in a time of chaos spoke as loud as the action he put forth. The show really was the first gathering of its size following the attack, with the wrestlers that earnestly talked down the lens that night amongst the first public figures to share their thoughts. Though the matches are understandably run-of-the-mill, the episode remains one of the company's most powerful broadcasts to this day.
